BRAZILIAN CUISINE
Brazil grows coffee and soya beans, cocoa, rice, wheat, corn, nuts, a wide range of fruits, and has well-developed fishing and livestock farming. Meat is usually cooked over a hot fire, less often boiled and stewed. Although chops are the most common meat used in cooking, there are also dishes made from intestines, kidneys and tongue. Brazilians are lovers of spicy food, so brace yourself - the local dishes you taste can be fiery. National dishes include fish ragu, spit-roasted meat, bean piuré and meat with beans and greens. Brazilian coffee and a refreshing drink called Guarana are recommended. Strong, natural, chilled coffee is available at any time of the day in Brazil (it is nothing like our usual European coffee).
