About the region.
How do you imagine your perfect holiday? Sunbathing on a sandy beach, or maybe a super active holiday? Great news - Malta, the diamond of the Mediterranean, combines both! On your trip, you'll find picturesque landscapes, harbour towns full of colourful fishing boats, spectacular Mediterranean vegetation and equally spectacular beaches.
By the way, did you know that Malta is the only country in Europe without a single river? There are no forests here either, but practically every city has wonderful parks to make up for the lack. There are around 360 temples and churches on the island, with images of saints in almost every building. Malta is also considered a paradise for vintage car lovers, so it's no surprise to see classic Mercedes, Jaguar and Ford models on the streets. In addition to interesting cars, Malta's streets are lined with colourful balconies. The brightly coloured balconies stand out against the background of the facades and, together with the coloured entrance doors, create a wonderful effect.
Malta has a long and rich history with the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Spanish, French and English. Long before the Phoenicians, the islands were home to a mysterious Stone Age tribe. Remains of temples built of large boulders have been preserved from those times. Nowhere else in the world can you find so many unique and varied architectural and archaeological monuments in such a small area. Malta and Gozo are visited by more than a million tourists every year. And it's not just the monuments that attract them. The beaches are mostly rocky and the sea is crystal clear, inviting for swimming and diving. Entertainment lovers will find tavernas, bars, restaurants and discos.
The Republic of Malta is a small archipelago of 10 islands, 80 km off the coast of Sicily and 300 km off the coast of North Africa. Sandwiched between two continents, this tiny Mediterranean country is one of the most beautiful places in Europe. The largest of the islands is Malta, in the heart of the Mediterranean. As a result, you can enjoy mild, pleasant weather all year round without worrying about excessive heat, which is effectively soothed by the fresh sea breeze.
The island's coastline stretches for about 140 km and features a wide variety of beaches, including the Blue Lagoon on Komino Island, a white-sand beach sandwiched between Komino and Kemmunett islands, famous for its clear, turquoise-blue water. The bay is also full of coves and small picturesque peninsulas that will leave a lasting impression. And that's just a taste of what Malta has to offer!
Malta has it all: stunning rocky coastlines, turquoise waters, sandy beaches and clear waters attract thousands of tourists from all over the world to the island every year. An interesting fact about the Maltese islands is that during the Second World War, Malta was one of the most bombed places on the continent. As a result, diving enthusiasts are now attracted not only to the breathtaking underwater cliffs, but also to the sunken bombers of World War II.
Head to Malta's capital, Valletta, a fortress from centuries ago. Here you'll find stunning, atmospheric golden sandstone houses with decorated balconies and well-preserved defensive walls, as well as many bars and restaurants. The town complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In good news for "Game of Thrones" fans, Malta is where many of the series' scenes were filmed. As you wander through the narrow streets of the city, you'll come across countless ancient landmarks. If you like to relax in nature, visit the unique Buskett Gardens, the greenest place in Malta. It's a park full of groves, avenues and citrus trees, perfect for a picnic or a stroll. A great attraction for the youngest travellers is Popeye's Village, based on the comic strip about the famous sailor. There's also an amusement park where you can spend a fun-filled day. Finally, visit the famous fishing village of Marsaxlokk, where colourful Luzzu boats bob on the waves. There's a weekly Sunday fish market where you can buy fresh fish and seafood
Gozo, Malta's little sister island, delights with its fabulous landscapes, hilltop villages and lush vegetation. It's no wonder Odysseus spent seven years here after being seduced by the nymph Calypso. The island is only accessible by ferry, so if you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy the fabulous tranquillity of the island, this is the island for you! Gozo is home to a complex of UNESCO-listed ancient temples, including the famous Jgantija, a giant Neolithic structure that is over 5,800 years old. On the island, you can relax on the beautiful beaches or take an exciting bus and car trip through the island's most scenic spots. Gozo's capital Victoria is also worth a visit. Victoria is home to the Citadel, a historic city/fortress that dates back to the Bronze Age, around 1500 BC, and was continued by the Phoenicians and Romans. Until the 18th century, it was used as a shelter from enemy attacks.
Bugiba is one of Malta's largest tourist destinations. Bugiba is connected to Qawra by a long seaside promenade. Both towns are situated on the picturesque rocky St Paul's Bay. Bugiba is full of shops, restaurants, bars, cafés and discos.
St Julian's - once a fishing village, now a modern resort with a rich nightlife. There are casinos, many nightclubs and discos. St Julian's is connected to Sliema by an elegant promenade.
Maltese cuisine is broadly based on English and Italian traditions, but like every other country, it has its own unique twist. Malta is known for its rabbit dishes, 'Bragioli' beef rolls, 'Pastizzi' cakes with ricotta cheese, 'Aljotta', the famous Maltese fishermen's soup. As you wander around the city, it's worth checking out the sweets stalls for Maltese cannoli filled with ricotta cheese or chocolate cream, as well as cakes filled with juicy figs, among others. An endorphin shot guaranteed!
Bounties - bring handmade glassware, traditional clay products.

BRAZILIAN CUISINE
Brazil grows coffee and soya beans, cocoa, rice, wheat, corn, nuts, a wide range of fruits, and has well-developed fishing and livestock farming. Meat is usually cooked over a hot fire, less often boiled and stewed. Although chops are the most common meat used in cooking, there are also dishes made from intestines, kidneys and tongue. Brazilians are lovers of spicy food, so brace yourself - the local dishes you taste can be fiery. National dishes include fish ragu, spit-roasted meat, bean piuré and meat with beans and greens. Brazilian coffee and a refreshing drink called Guarana are recommended. Strong, natural, chilled coffee is available at any time of the day in Brazil (it is nothing like our usual European coffee).
